The coaches at CrossFit Insurgent come from diverse athletic backgrounds and experience, but they all have one thing in common, they care. Their passion and commitment to helping you achieve your personal fitness goals is what separates us from other gyms. We know every member and their fitness goals, and strive to provide the training, education, support and motivation to meet these goals. As a coaching staff, we are committed to pursuing excellence and pushing you to thrive, not just survive. We are invested in taking care of you and take pride in helping you to enjoy life. Ashley Trotter is a full time high school English teacher. She was a collegiate basketball player at Wheaton College in Illinois. She coached high school basketball for several years before deciding to expand her love of coaching to CrossFit and the sport of fitness, where she found her passion for helping others reach their health and wellness goals.

Gabriel Perez, student Azusa Pacific University ’21 majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health professions. Educational goal is to become an AT or PT. Active in sports my whole life soccer basketball football during childhood. Played football wrestling and volleyball at Bishop Amat. Some collegiate football experience at Elac. Coached football for Junior All American Rosemead Rebels for 4 years. Been doing CrossFit for 5 years

Mark Hassell

Mark was a NCAA Division 1 athlete, running track for Stanford University, where he was a 3-time All-American. He has used his love of sports as a coach for multiple sports on the high school and college level, including: track, football, basketball and cross country. Mark brings a dedication to helping others achieve their goals, as he has been doing for years.

Luis has been doing CrossFit for 6 years and Olympic weightlifting for 4 years Chiropractor in the making. He cares more about quality form than the lift. Being a coach allows him to help people do things to improve their quality of life as well as improve their life expectancy
